1000 Tickets

Andrea, my sister, has always been the gambling type. She's the one who burns through a twenty dollar bill in no time at the slot machines or wastes hours at the black jack table, certain that the next hand will be the 'big one'.

OK, so she's not a gambler but she does enjoy wasting money at arcades...

My family and I (Chris, the boys, Mom, Dad, and Andrea) recently took a trip to Kalahari, courtesy of my parents. We've wanted to go together for a while but it hasn't worked out until now. The boys were so excited that Papa and Nina were going to be able to experience Kalahari with them.

After we were settled into our room we headed to the water park. We spent a few hours at the water park then headed to one of the restaurants inside the 'compound' for dinner.

After dinner the boys wanted to play in the arcade for a while. There was no opposition from my parents or Andrea because the boys have them wrapped around their little fingers. I'm not sure how much money was spent on tokens but the boys and Andrea were in heaven.

After Andrea had won 50 tickets on 'Deal or No Deal' we headed over to her favorite game. She told me the basic idea and asked if I would play along side her. "Why not?" I thought. "It's not my money..." Ha ha...

My game was over as quick as it started and I ended up with two tickets. I hate those plastic spider rings!!!

Just as I was ripping off my tickets Andrea exclaimed, "I think I won a thousand tickets!" We both stood back, dumbfounded, and watched the tickets pouring out. It took a while for reality to set in, then we realized a counter that seemed to be counting back from 1000! I ran to get the rest of our family then we all huddled around the jackpot laughing at Andrea's luck (or skill) and protecting the tickets.

She was so proud of her tickets! She had a huge grin on her face the rest of the night...

When the time came to turn in tickets for prizes she gracefully donated her earnings to the boys (what was she going to do with a thousand spider rings???).

Thanks for the crazy memory Andrea!!!
